Cherria Moore is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate. Cherria has been assisting individuals with mental health and substance use issues for over 15 years. Cherria assists people with difficulties involving anxiety, depression, as well as specific issues such as engaging in self-harm, substance use, and dealing with weight bias. She works with individuals, couples, and groups and believes in using an integrative approach to address challenges noted by individuals seeking counseling. Primarily, the counseling techniques utilized in the Existentialist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian Models.

A few examples of techniques may contain addressing cognitive distortions, self-soothing, and homework assignments. Her primary clinical models are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) within an existential framework. Cherria’s approach for therapy with every person is chosen to be the best match approach for that person.

Cherria is also a researcher, author and presenter in a number of areas including multicultural issues, crisis topics, and substance use in academic and community settings and doctoral candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at University of North Carolina – Charlotte.
