Kay Bailey-Day is a native of the Hickory area. She graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a BA in Psychology with a certification in Education in 1991. She returned to Lenoir-Rhyne University to complete an MA degree in Agency and Community Counseling in 1998.  Ms. Bailey-Day has also completed a certification in Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. (LCMHC #4819S) She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor. Ms. Bailey-Day’s clinical services include counseling with adolescents and adults. 

Ms. Bailey-Day practices client centered techniques that are evidenced based and shown in research trials to be the most effective. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the modality that she uses most often along with Solution Based Therapy.   The areas of expertise that Ms. Bailey-Day works with are PTSD, Grief, Parenting Skills, Anger Management, Anxiety and Depression.
