Mr. Ed McDaniel received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master of Arts Degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in School Psychology from Appalachian State University. He is a Licensed Psychological Associate – Health Services Provider in the state of North Carolina.

Ed has worked in public schools, residential schools for the deaf, residential facilities, and community-based programs for adults and children with cognitive, behavioral, health, and emotional difficulties. He uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based cognitive behavioral approach, to help clients clarify what is important to them and commit to moving in that direction. This is done by increasing self-awareness, openness, present moment attention, flexibility, acceptance, and self-compassion.

As a person with vision and hearing loss, Ed has a particular interest in helping clients adjust to losses associated with changes in vision, hearing, and other health conditions.
