Candice Tate, PhD

Dr. Tate is a Licensed Psychologist with a degree in Clinical Psychology from Gallaudet University in 2006. Her experience comes from providing direct mental health and behavioral counseling for adults with a variety of presenting issues, including anxiety, relationship and family issues, trauma, gender identity, and depression. Additional experience comes from assessments with kids, teens, and adults related to ADHD, learning disorders, cognitive/executive functioning, and developmental disabilities.

Her experience is varied across settings, having provided individual therapy in community mental health agencies, research centers, school settings, residential rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and day treatment facilities. Her assessments have taken place across the country in primary and secondary schools, prisons, correctional centers, Vocational Rehabilitation Centers, Native American Reservations, and ADHD Centers.

Her therapeutic approach draws influence from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Positive Psychology. A top priority for her is to meet you where you are and calibrate treatment and her approach to what will work best to move you toward your goals. Whether you are working towards enlightenment and insight or symptom-relief and improved function, her hope is to collaboratively work together to achieve it!
